Debbi Morgan

Debbi Morgan (born September 20, 1956 in Dunn , North Carolina ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Morgan made her debut in the 1971 comedy Cry Uncle . She played a minor supporting role in the 1976 thriller Taxi Driver . From 1976 to 1977 she appeared in several episodes of the television series What's Happening !! on.

From 1982 to 1990 and 1994 to 1996 Morgan starred in the television series All My Children . For this role, she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award in 1986, which she won in 1989. In 1986 and 1990 she was nominated for the Soap Opera Digest Award . For her role in the television series The City (1995) she was nominated for the Image Award in 1996.

Morgan played one of the bigger roles in the drama Eve's Bayou (1997) alongside Samuel L. Jackson . For this role she won the 1998 Independent Spirit Award and the Chicago Film Critics Association Award , as well as being nominated for the Golden Satellite Award and the Image Award . For the role in the boxer drama Hurricane (1999), in which she played alongside Denzel Washington , she was nominated for an Image Award in 2000. In 2002 she won the Image Award for her appearances in the television series Soul Food in 2001 and 2002.

Morgan married Donn Thompson in 1997 following their marriages to actors Charles Weldon and Charles S. Dutton .
