The Debenham Peak is a 1,140 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . In the Scott Mountains it rises south of Amundsen Bay and eight miles east of Mount Cronus .
Participants of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered him in January 1930. Mawson named the mountain after his compatriot and colleague Frank Debenham (1883-1965). The exact geographic position of the mountain was determined between 1954 and 1958 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
