Deborah Hannah Pontes Nunes (born March 14, 1993 in Recife ) is a Brazilian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Brazilian national team.
Career
Deborah Nunes was part of the squad of the Brazilian team Metodista / São Bernardo. The backcourt player won the Brazilian championship with Metodista in 2012. A year later it was enough for Metodista only to the runner-up title. From the beginning of the 2019/20 season, she was under contract with the Russian first division club GK Astrachanotschka . When Nunes violated the quarantine regulations of the COVID-19 pandemic after a stay abroad in March 2020 , her player contract was terminated.
Deborah Nunes initially played for the Brazilian national junior team and was then added to the squad of the senior national team. With the Brazilian selection, she took part in the Pan American Championship in the summer of 2013 , where Brazil won the title. In December of the same year she played for her country at the World Cup in Serbia . There Nunes scored eleven goals in nine games and won the world title.
