Debubawi Kayih Bahri ( ዞባ ደቡባዊ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ , also written Debubawi Keyih Bahri , Arabic منطقة البحر الأحمر الجنوبية, Italian Regione del Mar Rosso Meridionale ; German  Southern Region of the Red Sea ) is a region ( Zoba ) of Eritrea with 293,000 inhabitants and comprises the southern part of the country.

The main town of the region is Assab .

Other cities are Beylul , Raheita and Thio . The region has an area of ​​around 27,600 km² and is 500 kilometers long but only 50 kilometers wide. The east of the region lies on the Red Sea , while the west lies in the Danakil Desert .

The inhabitants of the Debubawi Kayih Bahri region are mainly part of the Afar people , who were also known as Danakil in the past . At the time of the Ethiopian rule over Eritrea, the region was now called Dankalia . Today two of the three sub-regions (districts) are called Denkalia .
