Debundscha is a place in the southwest region of the Republic of Cameroon .

It is located at the foot of the Cameroon Mountain on its southwestern slope and is directly opposite the South Atlantic Ocean on the Cameroon coast.

Debundscha is considered the wettest city on the African continent with 10,287 millimeters of rain. However, the rain records show that the city of Ureka on the island of Bioko in Equatorial Guinea could be even more humid with over 10,450 millimeters of annual rainfall.

The place Debundscha is one of the five rainiest places in the world next to Lloró , Mawsynram , Mount Waialeale and Cherrapunji , since over 10,000 millimeters (400 ins) of annual rain falls here.

history

The German colonial rulers installed a lighthouse in Debundscha in 1904 as part of the infrastructure development of the German colony of Cameroon .
