Dedebağ (kurd. Bağin or Baxin ) is an abandoned hamlet ( Mezra ) in the Mazgirt district in the Turkish province of Tunceli , on the border with the province of Elazığ . He belonged to the village of Akdüven (kurd. Faraç ). The settlement was abandoned in the 1990s as part of the PKK's armed struggle . The settlement became known nationwide on October 22, 1992, when the PKK raided the village and executed 11 or 12 people.
Near the former settlement are the Bağın Kalesi, a ruined castle from the time of King Menuas ( Urartu ) and a hot spring, the so-called Dedebağ or Bağın Kaplıcası. Both attractions are located on the banks of the Peri Çayı ( Peri Suyu ) River .
In earlier centuries the settlement was called "Baghin", "Bağhin" or "Baghnadoon".
