Deee-Lite was a pop music group formed in New York in 1986. Her biggest hit in the summer of 1990 was the track Groove Is in the Heart , which was co-created with Q-Tip by A Tribe Called Quest and Bootsy Collins .
The band included Lady Miss Kier (Kierin Kirby), Supa DJ Dmitry (Dmitry Brill) and Jungle DJ Towa Tei (Doug Wa-Chung). In 1994 Towa Tei left the band and started a solo career. He was replaced by DJ Ani (Ani Q. Schempf).
In spring 2003, Lady Miss Kier sued the Sega company because a character in the video game Space Channel 5 was modeled after her person.
