Deep Puddle Dynamics was an American hip hop group.

history

The band was formed in 1998. The members officially include the rappers Slug , Alias , DoseOne and Sole. Nevertheless, most of the founding members of the Anticon label are counted as unofficial members, since the founding of Deep Puddle Dynamics took place at the same time as Anticons was founded. Again, this label was originally only used for the release of the Deep Puddle Dynamics debut album, The Taste of Rain ... Why Kneel? , Founded in 1999.

Forming the band was a slow process. The musicians who were later involved in the debut album got to know each other after they became aware of each other's music recordings and demos , mostly by chance or through friends . So Slug, Sole, Alias, DoseOne and others contacted each other and the idea of a joint project was born. All members met in person for the first time at a concert by rapper Aceyalone .

The album The Taste of Rain ... Why Kneel? was recorded in two studio sessions: the first half on June 26, 1998 and the second half exactly one year later, on June 26, 1999.

The group broke up in 2000 after Slug wanted to devote more time to his other band, Atmosphere (along with Ant).

In 2002 the group's last release, the EP More from June / We Aint Fessin '(Double Quotes) , was also released via Anticon. The recordings are from the time of the debut album.
