Defleshed was a Swedish band that played a mix of Thrash and Death Metal . It was founded in Uppsala , Uppland , in 1991 and dissolved in 2005.
history
The band was founded towards the end of 1991 by drummer Oskar Karlsson, guitarists Kristoffer Griedl and Lars Löfven and singer Robin Dohlk. In 1992 they recorded two demos with Defleshed and Abrah Kadavrah . On Abraham Bradley Kadavrah Johan Hedman was heard as a singer. In the course of the year a new singer and bassist joined the band with Gustaf Jorde. In 1993 the next demo called Body Art followed . Thereby they got a contract with Invasion Records and released the EP Ma Belle Scalpelle in 1994.
In 1995 Matte Modin (ex- Dark Funeral , Raised Fist ) replaced drummer Oskar Karlsson (now also with Raised Fist). A year later, guitarist Griedl left the band. Invasion Records then followed their first two albums with Abrah Kadavrah (1996) and Under the Blade (1998). After the release of the second album a tour through Europe followed with In Flames and Borknagar .
In 1996 the album Fast Forward was released on War Music and the live album Death… The High Cost of Living was released on Raw Music . These releases were followed by a tour of Europe with Cannibal Corpse . There was also a small tour of Japan .
In 2002 the album Royal Straight Flesh followed on Regain Records . It was recorded at Berno Studios and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at Dugout Studios .
The last album, called Reclaim the Beat , was released in 2005 through Regain Records. The band broke up that same year.
style
The band plays a fast mix of Thrash Metal and Death Metal. The aggressive singing is characteristic.
