Shay Powers, Lola Pacini and Frankie Hollingsworth are best friends. Without knowing it, Shay and Lola fall in love with the same guy: Tiny Bell. Lola gets together with Tiny while Shay struggles with it. On the day of the snowball, the truth will come out. Meanwhile, Frankie mourns her relationship with Winston Chu. She wants to pair her friends with him again, but Frankie meets Jonah Haak. She has a crush on him and fights for a relationship.

Miles Hollingsworth III is elected Degrassi Community School's new student representative. The homosexual Tristan Milligan is elected as the new student representative of the Degrassi due to election fraud. He had a relationship with Miles Hollingsworth III. After the breakup, he starts an affair with Vijay Maraj. Meanwhile Miles meets the new student Esme Song, with whom he starts a relationship. After learning that his mother Diana has a relationship with his abusive father again, Esme makes him addicted to tablets. When he gets noticed negatively and neglects his best friend Winston, he wants to go into therapy and separates from Esme. She then pretends to commit suicide. When Miles learns the truth, he finally separates from her and befriends Tristan again.

Grace Cardinal and Zoë Rivas become friends. When Zoë develops feelings for the sick Grace, she tries to develop a relationship with her. However, when she realizes that she is not a lesbian, she breaks up with Zoë. In revenge, she sleeps with Zig Novak. This leads a relationship with the singer Maya Matlin. Maya wants to start a music career with Jonah. This makes Zig jealous and therefore goes on a one-night stand with Zoë. Meanwhile, Maya meets Goldi Nahir, who runs a feminist club. Maya joins them and together they fight for equality at the Degrassi Community School. They run into the video game club, led by Hunter Hollingsworth, because they believe that computer games portray women too sexistically. When the club is banned, Hunter swears revenge and kills Maya with Internet mail. When Zig finds out, he confronts Hunter. Hunter then blackmailed him with a video on which he can be seen having sex with Zoë. Zig reveals herself to Maya, who then breaks up with him. When Hunter's friends (Vijay, Baaz Nahir and Yael Baron) also turn away from him, he wants to kill them all. Miles can stop him at the last moment, but Hunter asks to keep it to himself.
