history
The first documentary mention of the place took place in 1300.
The place Deicheroda formed the southernmost part of the office Vacha in the Middle Ages , the southern neighboring places already belonged to the Geisa office and belonged to the area of the prince abbey of Fulda, the east adjacent Völkershausen was owned by the lords of Völkershausen , a family of imperial knights. The corridor now covers 355 hectares, until the 19th century the adjacent district of Mosa belonged to Deicheroda, and in the 18th century a parcel of land near Rodenberg also belonged to the place. The Deicheroda population was parish in Sünna. For the population who worked as shepherds, craftsmen, forest workers and mountain farmers, it was not until 1900 that potash mining near Unterbreizbach brought new opportunities to earn a living. Even in the 1930s there were hardly any job offers in Deicheroda. A memorial plaque, which was renewed in 2001, commemorates the emergency work of 1934. During this job creation measure, fields and meadows were pitted, the drinking water pipeline was laid in the village and some paths were paved. A memorial stone on the churchyard wall in Sünna commemorates the fallen of the two world wars and lists the victims of the Deicheroda and Mosa districts by name. In 1975 the court communities of Deicheroda, Mühlwärts, Hüttenroda and Mosa were incorporated into Sünna by decision of the Bad Salzungen district council . In 2012, 56 people lived in Deicheroda.
