The Deildenapen ( Norwegian for Grenzberg ) is a massive and 2050 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It forms the eastern face of Deildedalen in the eastern Petermann chain of the Wohlthat massif .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . A new mapping on the basis of aerial photographs and surveys as well as the naming took place during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Naming background is a spirit from the Norwegian world of legends, which illegally changes the division of property by laying boundary stones.
