The area of today's Deisswil has been settled for a long time. Finds from Roman times prove this.
In the Middle Ages a quarry was operated there, which supplied the building blocks for the Bern Minster .
Since the 18th century trade has settled. Deisswil achieved greater popularity in particular through the Deisswil cardboard factory, which has now been closed, and the Stützli-Haus , to which the pioneer breeding of the local tomato variety Berner Rose goes back.
On April 26, 1985, four people died in a collision between two Bern-Solothurn regional trains (RBS) near Deisswil, 16 people were injured. A train from Bern did not wait for the opposite train from Worb to cross. After the accident, the ZSL 90 train protection system was developed at great expense .
