The Delatite River is a river in the middle of the Australian state of Victoria .
course
The river rises between the winter sports resorts of Mount Stirling and Mount Buller on the western edge of the Alpine National Park . From the source it runs west through the small towns of Mirimbah , Merrijig , Delatite and Piries . At Goughs Bay it flows into Lake Eildon , a reservoir in the course of the Goulburn River. After around 85 kilometers , the Delatite River flows into the Goulburn River .
Surname
The river was named after Delotite , the wife of the Aboriginal leader Beolite , who headed the Yowung Illum Baluk clan of the Taungurung .
