Delilah Asiago

Delilah Asiago (born February 24, 1972 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

In the 1990s, she was one of best times of 31:22 minutes over 10 km and 1:09:05 h over the half marathon as distance to the world's best street racers . In 1995 she was named Road Racer of the Year by Running Times Magazine .

In 1999 she was tested positive for doping at the New Year's Eve in São Paulo and was banned from the IAAF for two years.

After that, she specialized in the marathon distance . She set her best time in 2004 with 2:37:24 as sixth of the Rotterdam Marathon . In 2006 she won the Dubai Marathon , in which she narrowly missed victory the year before after suffering from cramps and nausea on the final kilometer.
