Delio César Toledo (born February 10, 1976 in Cecilio Báez ) is a former Paraguayan football player . He played for several years in the top Spanish league and took part with the Paraguayan national team in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Career

The defender moved to Europe for the first time in 1999 when he was signed by the Italian first division club Udinese Calcio . After further positions at Espanyol Barcelona and the Argentine club Colón Santa Fe , he only made his breakthrough when he moved to Real Saragossa in 2003. For the 2003/04 season he rose with Saragossa in the Spanish Primera División and won the national cup in 2004. In 2006 Toledo moved to Turkey to Kayserispor , where he played until 2010 and won the Turkish Cup in 2008. He finished his career in Paraguay in 2011 at 3 de Febrero.

Toledo made 35 appearances for Paraguay between 1999 and 2008, scoring four goals. At the Copa America 1999 , in which Paraguay failed in the quarterfinals to Uruguay, he took part as a regular player. At the 2006 World Cup he was used once and was substituted in the first game against England due to an injury. In the other two group matches he was not used because he was suffering from an injury.
