Delta Pronatura Dr. Krauss & Dr. Beckmann KG ( spelling : delta pronatura ) is the parent company of a group of companies in the consumer goods industry with headquarters in Egelsbach, south of Frankfurt am Main . The group of companies is owned by the third and fourth generation of owners and is managed by the owners Heiner Beckmann, Gerhard Krauss and the managing director Nils Beckmann. The family company has specialized in the areas of detergents, care and cleaning agents as well as health & beauty care and is represented in Austria , Switzerland , France , Mexico , the USA and China with subsidiaries, and in Great Britain and Poland with joint ventures.
The group of companies generated sales of 165 million euros in 2017.
history
Company origin and development
Delta Pronatura has its origins in Schäfers Apotheke in Berlin with the production and distribution of DDD skin balm , which the pharmacist Gerhard Krauss took over in 1934 with the associated DDD laboratory. When his eldest daughter married Klaus Beckmann, who had a doctorate in pharmacy, in 1942, Beckmann joined the existing business and managed the company alongside Krauss. In 1951 the company moved to the Rhine-Main area and Gerhard Krauss's youngest son, Theo Krauss, also joined the management team in 1952 after completing his pharmacy studies and doctorate. In 1974 the son of Klaus Beckmann, Heiner Beckmann, followed and in 1992 Gerhard Krauss, the son of Theo Krauss, joined the company. From 2001 they ran the company together. In the same year the headquarters were moved to Egelsbach . In 2016, Heiner Beckmann's son Nils Beckmann joined the management.
Over the years, delta pronatura expanded successively and in 1994 founded its first subsidiary in the USA , Delta Carbona LP. The establishment of further subsidiaries and joint ventures followed in the years that followed. The last delta pronatura France SAS was established in Bordeaux , France in 2016 .
Brand and range development
Own brands
With the acquisition of Offenbacher Fleckenteufel in 1971, Delta Pronatura entered the detergent, care and cleaning agent market. In 1982 the company gained greater prominence with the launch of the Dr. Beckmann stain remover.
Since 1986, Dr. Beckmann as the umbrella brand for all special cleaners for stain removal, for laundry care products and, since 1991, for specialized household cleaning products. This brand is now represented in over 80 countries worldwide.
In 1982 Delta Pronatura acquired the Bullrich brand with its core product Original Bullrich Salt ( sodium hydrogen carbonate ) for heartburn. In addition to this drug, the brand offers other health products from different areas. Bullrich salt is one of the oldest branded products in Germany.
In June 2018 Delta Pronatura launched the vegan brand Dr. Theo Krauss with sustainable detergents and cleaning agents.
Another company-owned brand is Fess'nett (hygiene products) in France. Fess'nett launched the first moist toilet paper on the French market in 1994.
Distribution brands
Independently of its own brands, Delta Pronatura has been selling the US lip care brand Blistex under license since 1973 and the skin care oil Bi-Oil in Germany and Austria since 2011 . In addition, the company is the distribution brands Plantur (hair care), Vagisan (personal hygiene) and Australis (self-tanning) in the UK and with Alpecin in the UK and France represented. The company has been selling the too cool for school brand (Korean cosmetics) under license on the German market since the end of May 2018 .
