Delta Deep is a British blues rock band that was founded in 2013 by singer Debbi Blackwell-Cook together with the guitarist of the hard rock band Def Leppard , Phil Collen .

history

Phil Collen, who became known mainly as the lead guitarist of Def Leppard, but also with his group Man Raze , met Debbi Blackwell-Cook in 2010, who is also the godmother of his wife Helen. After both had realized that they had common musical interests, Blackwell-Cook in 2012 participated in the recordings for Single of Take on the World, which is part of the soundtrack to the film The Showdown: I, Super Biker II was. A year later, the group released their EP I Surrender, on the Blackwell-Cook of the songs I Surrender and All I Wanna Do was involved.

From 2013 Phil and Helen Collen wrote songs together with Blackwell-Cook for a blues album, which they wanted to record in Collen's own studio. The guitarist won the services of the drummer Forrest Robinson, who had worked with India.Arie and Joe Sample , among others . With the bassist of the band Stone Temple Pilots , Robert DeLeo, the group was completed, so that nothing stood in the way of live performances.

The group finished work on the album, which was released on June 23, 2015. In addition to Collen's bandmates Simon Laffy and Paul Cook , both of whom can be heard on the track Black Coffee , Whitesnake founder and singer David Coverdale and Joe Elliot each contributed to the recording for one song ( Private Number and Mistreated ).
