Man Raze is the name of a British rock band . The trio consists of the guitarist and singer Phil Collen ( Def Leppard ), the drummer Paul Cook ( Sex Pistols ) and the bassist Simon Laffy (formerly Girl ).

history

In the early 1980s, Phil Collen was the guitarist of the British glam rock band Girl , who achieved notable success with their albums Sheer Greed (1980) and Wasted Youth (1982) and the single Hollywood Tease . Sheer Greed reached number 33 on the British charts, Wasted Youth number 77. Hollywood Tease reached number 55 on the British singles chart on April 19, 1980. The cast of Girl also included bassist Simon Laffy. After Collen switched to Def Leppard , the friendship between the two musicians continued.

Paul Cook became known as a founding member of the Sex Pistols and later was a member of the band The Professionals , which broke up in 1982.

When Collen came to London in 2004 to care for his dying father, he also met with Laffy to play some songs he had not written for Def Leppard . Laffy was interested in working with Collen on the material and they quickly agreed that a band should be formed to play and record the material. A little later, Collen happened to meet Paul Cook and the opportunity arose to work together.

In October 2005 the group released an EP called Skincrawl , followed by their debut album called Surreal in September 2007 . Another release came on May 31, 2011 when the group released their single Over my Dead Body , which was followed on July 31, 2011 by the album punk funk roots rock .

On February 7, 2012, the single Take on the World was released, which is part of the soundtrack for The Showdown: I, Super Biker II .
