Punk funk roots rock -

Punk Funk Rootsrock is the second studio album by the British band Man Raze , released in 2011 .

Emergence

Punk funk roots rock was recorded in London within 12 days. The title of the album goes back to a question from the wife of guitarist Phil Collen, which music genre would be represented on the album; Drummer Paul Cook answered the question with "punk, funk and rock". The band then decided to name the album punk funk roots rock written as a word. On May 31, the single Over My Dead Body was released as a downloadable version on iTunes . In addition, the title I, Superbiker is included on the soundtrack of the film of the same name.

Guest musician

  • Hollie Cook: Backing Vocal on Closer To Me
  • CJ Vanston: Keyboards on All I Wanna Do
  • "The West Heath Happy Clappers": Claps on Over My Dead Body
  • "The Movers and Shakers": Percussion on All I Wanna Do and Dog Bite

reception

Rocks magazine awarded four out of six possible points and wrote under the heading Arguments for a Beach Vacation :

The personal details of this collective pastime of Phil Collen (actually guitarist of Def Leppard), his bass colleague Simon Laffy from the Stone Age girl days and Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook seem strange even in the year seven after starting business. Musically, however, Man Raze work very well and their second LP also thunders serious arguments for their all-star trio into the scales. Their well-produced songs teach Jimi Hendrix and Otis Redding the art of pop melody (›All I Wanna Do‹) and stretch repeatedly after The Police (›Closer To Me‹). They cross King's X and Cheap Trick with Devin Townsend's Oceanmachine (›Dreamland‹), only to fall violently in the mood over a lasciviously thundering groove bass. And ›ICU In Everything‹ sounds like Type O Negative on the ninth day of your vacation on the beach with a warm breeze. Everything is served with a slight Leppard list, due to their clear schooling in Collen's vocal performance. Great album. "
