Demmingen with the hamlet Wagenhofen is a part of the municipality Dischingen in the district of Heidenheim . Until 1974 Demmingen was an independent municipality.

Location and transport links

Demmingen is located southeast of the center of Dischingen on the district roads K 3000 and K 3001.

The place is on the east of the Härtsfeld , a plateau in the east of the Swabian Alb .

history

Demmingen was first mentioned as Thuemingen in 1270 , and one year later as Tumingen . In 1270 the Mödingen monastery received property in Demmingen, and in 1271 it received another property from the Echenbrunn monastery . In 1295 the Ochsenhausen monastery ceded its property in Demmingen to the Neresheim monastery .
