Old castle

The Old Castle is an Outbound hilltop castle on a nearly circular cone-shaped mountain at 515  m above sea level. NN southwest of the district Demmingen of the community Dischingen in the district of Heidenheim in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Counts of Dillingen , later passed to the Lords of Hürnheim and then to the Counts of Fugger. The castle was destroyed before 1551 and was demolished between 1570 and 1572.

The castle complex had a residential tower measuring 6.6 by 10.3 meters with a wall thickness of 1.72 meters.
