The Castle Stetten ob Lontal stands in the village Stetten ob Lontal, a district of Niederstotzingen about one kilometer south of the lower Lonetals .

history

The 1646 in Renaissance style built castle is situated high on the hill slopes of the former castle site . Between 1712 and 1748 Valerian Brenner carried out extensive renovation and refurbishment work in the Baroque style . In 1821 Count Carl Leopold von Maldeghem acquired the building and the property belonging to it from the Lords of Riedheim . Count Maldeghem used the castle as a school and town hall or for rent. It has been privately owned since 1976 and is not open to the public.
