Valerian Brenner
Valerian Brenner (born March 26, 1652 in Au in the Bregenzerwald , † April 27, 1715 in Günzburg ) was a master builder of the Vorarlberg Baroque .
Resident in Günzburg since 1678 , Brenner worked as a builder for the Fugger family , the Augsburg Cathedral Chapter and other clergy and secular lords in East Swabia. One of his first works - he was only 28 years old - was the manufacture of the tower octagon for the parish church of St. Martin in Mertingen .
Brenner is considered a solid and dignified builder of the second row, but in this he occupies an outstanding position. He never tired of building or renovating churches and castles, parsonages and offices, breweries and monastery buildings according to the wishes of his undemanding, thrifty and practical builders.
