history
Auerbach was created as a clearing site in the second clearing period (11th to 13th centuries). The later local owners are known: Albrecht der Schrag von Mönstetten ( Knöringer family , Burgau - district of Günzburg ), Fultenbach Benedictine monastery , Cistercian convent Oberschönenfeld , Heilig-Geist-Spital Augsburg (until 1803).
In 1608 a chapel was first recorded in Auerbach, because at that time the Fultenbach monastery had it restored. From 1862 to 1929 Auerbach belonged to the district office of Zusmarshausen and from 1929 to the district office of Augsburg , which from 1939 was called the district of Augsburg . In 1913 a water supply was built in Auerbach, in 1925 the community was connected to the power grid and in 1955/56 the sewerage system was installed. In 1966 land consolidation began . Since the municipal reform , Auerbach belonged from July 1, 1972 to April 30, 1978 to the municipality of Horgau, which was incorporated into the Zusmarshausen market with effect from May 1, 1978 . With the successful re-establishment of Horgau as an independent municipality on October 27, 1983, Auerbach became its district again.
