content
The film Demony wojny według Goi is set in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the end of the Bosnian War . During this time, as part of the IFOR occupying the country, the major of the Polish Army, Edward Keller, was in command of a small unit. Shortly before his leave of absence, a Norwegian helicopter is shot down. Against the order to stay in the base, he starts a rescue operation. He manages to locate the helicopter, but the crew is already dead.
The troops meet Bosnian military personnel with two prisoners, a French journalist and a representative of the Bosnian press. Keller has one of the soldiers secretly killed in order to free the hostages. While the unit tries to flee, they are discovered and pursued by the rest of the military, who have a video tape with information relevant to the war effort from one of the hostages freed from Keller. In doing so, they manage to shoot down the helicopter with which Keller's unit flees with the hostages. At the same time, the unit is ambushed by the Bosnians, but can successfully defend itself.
Keller's troops later discover the videotape on the freed hostage and watch it. It shows a mass execution ordered by the Bosnian Prime Minister. After the previous owner of this video flees and Keller's troops are again surprised by a Bosnian attack, Keller has to surrender the tape so that the troops are spared.
