Career

society

Denis Alibec's professional career began with Farul Constanța when he made his debut in the Romanian League 1 on September 27, 2008 . In his third game he scored the 1-1 equalizer against FC Politehnica Timișoara and secured his team a point. However, the club slipped to the bottom of the table and was relegated to the second division. He then left Romania and moved to Italy for Inter Milan .

His Serie A debut came on November 21, 2010 when he came on for Jonathan Biabiany in a 2-1 loss to Chievo Verona in the 68th minute .

On August 26, 2011, Inter Milan announced that Alibec had been loaned to KV Mechelen . In the summer of 2012, a one-year loan deal was agreed with the Romanian first division club FC Viitorul Constanța .

In July 2013 it was announced that Alibec will be loaned to Serie A team Bologna FC . The Emilian club also received an option to purchase half of the transfer rights to the Romanian.

After he only made one appearance in the first half of the 2013/14 season , Astra Giurgiu signed him in early 2014 . In the remainder of the season he was used nine times, mostly as a substitute, and scored five goals. The club was able to complete the 2013/14 season as runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest . He was also used in the semi-finals and the final of the Cup and won his first national title with the Romanian Cup , which was also the first title for the club. In the 2014/15 season he was hardly used at the beginning, and after he had been on the starting line-up for the first time twice in a row at the end of the first half of the season, he was back in the stands for a long time in the second half. In the last quarter of the season he finally made it into the team and he scored six goals in the last eight games. In the following season he missed the start of the season due to injury, but then secured the club's participation in the championship group with eight goals and four assists. With eight more goals and seven assists in nine games in the championship tournament, he was instrumental in ensuring that Astra Giurgiu was able to win the first championship title in the club's history. In autumn 2016 he was voted Romania's Footballer of the Year .

At the beginning of 2017, Alibec switched to the record champions FCSB Bucharest (formerly Steaua Bucharest ).

National team

Back in 2013, Denis Alibec played in an unofficial international match against a selection of Poland in the national jersey. On October 11, 2015, he came on as a substitute for his first official international match in the 90th minute of the last qualifying game for the 2016 European Championship . Only in the last preparatory games for the EM he was back in the squad and was in the starting XI against the Congo for the first time. He scored his first national team goal against Ukraine in the following game on May 29, 2016. He was then included in the Romanian EM squad and came on as a substitute in the EM opening game after opponents France had taken a 1-0 lead.
