The 2002/03 season began Sokolow at Ak Bars Kazan, but moved after just one game within the Superliga to Molot-Prikamje Perm , for which he scored a goal in 33 games and gave five assists. From 2003 to 2007 he was under contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , before he spent the 2007/08 season at the top club Lokomotive Yaroslavl, with whom he lost 2: 3 wins in the playoff final Salawat Yulayev Ufa in the best-of-five series . For the 2008/09 season he returned to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk, which in the meantime had been included in the newly founded Continental Hockey League .
