Denis Michailowitsch Archipow ( Russian Денис Михайлович Архипов ; born May 19, 1979 in Kazan , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player . In the course of his career he was active for Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , Atlant Mytishchi and Ak Bars Kazan in the Continental Hockey League and the Russian Super League as well as for the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League .

Career

Denis Archipow began his career as a hockey player with Ak Bars Kazan , for which he was active in the Russian Super League from 1996 to 2000 , and with which he became Russian champion in 1998 . He was also selected in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft in the third round as a total of 60th player by the Nashville Predators .

In the summer of 2000, the Russian moved to North America and made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Predators in the 2000/01 season . The attacker bridged the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season in his Russian homeland at his ex-club in Kazan. Even afterwards, the left-handed shooter stayed in Russia, where he received a contract with Chimik Moskovskaya Oblast . After he was on the ice for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League during the 2006/07 season , Archipov returned to Ak Bars Kazan, with whom he then won the IIHF Continental Cup in 2008, before moving from Atlant Mytishchi in the summer of 2008 from the newly formed Continental Hockey League was committed. In 2009 he moved to league rivals Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for whom he was active until the end of the 2011/12 season.

In July 2012 he received a contract with HK CSKA Moscow , but left it in October of the same year and was signed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod .

International

For Russia Archipov took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1999 , as well as the World Championships in 2003 and 2006 . At the U20 Junior World Championships in 1999 he won the gold medal with his team.
