Denis Valerjewitsch Karzew ( Russian Денис Валерьевич Карцев ; born April 25, 1976 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Krylja Sowetow Moscow in the Vysschaja Hockey League .

Career

Denis Karzew began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with HK Dynamo Moscow , for whose professional team he was active in the super league from 1994 to 2005 . During this period he and his team won the CIS championship in 1995 and the Russian championship in 2000 and 2005. In the 1998/99 season he failed with Dynamo in the playoff final at HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk . From 2005 to 2007 the center played for Dynamo's league rivals HK Lada Tolyatti . In the 2007/08 season he ran first for the HK MWD Balaschicha and then for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod .

For the 2008/09 season Karzew moved to Chimik Woskressensk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League , but left the financially troubled club shortly before the end of the season and ended the season at his ex-club HK Lada Tolyatti. In the 2009/10 season Karzew played for HK Sibir Novosibirsk . In the following season he was under contract with three different teams. First he started the season with Metallurg Shlobin in the Belarusian Extraliga before he returned to his Russian homeland, where he was on the ice in the second-rate Wysschaja Hockey League for Molot-Prikamje Perm and Krylya Sowetov Moscow . From the dissolution of the professional department of Krylya Sowetow he was without a club and therefore ended his career.
