Denis Wladimirowitsch Leonow ( Kazakh Денис Владимирович Леонов ; born September 18, 1977 in Qaraghandy , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HK Arlan Kökschetau in the Kazakh championship .

Career

Denis Leonow began his career as a hockey player at HK Awangard Omsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 1996/97 season . He then played in the 1998/99 season for Amur Khabarovsk in the Super League. From 1999 to 2001, the winger played for Gasowik Tyumen in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. He then ran for one year each for their league rivals Metallurgy Serow and Mostowik Kurgan before signing again with Gasowik Tyumen. From 2004 to 2009, the Kazakh stood at the Russian second division team Sauralje Kurgan on the ice, where he ended the 2008/09 season at his ex-club Metallurg Serow.

The 2009/10 season began Leonow at HK Sary-Arka Karaganda in the Kazakh championship . After only six games, he left the team and played the rest of the season with their league rivals HK Beibarys Atyrau . He has been playing for HK Arlan Kökschetau in Kazakhstan since the 2010/11 season .

International

For Kazakhstan Leonov took part in the U-20 Junior C World Championship in 1996 .
