Dennis Buchner (born March 31, 1977 in Lübeck ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since the 17th electoral term .

Life

After graduating from the Oberschule zum Dom in Lübeck , Buchner studied political science from 1998 to 2005 at the University of Bonn and the University of Potsdam . He completed his studies in 2005 as a political scientist. Buchner joined the SPD in 1998. From 2000 to 2002 he worked as a student assistant for the SPD member of the state parliament, Bernhard von Grünberg . Since 2002 he has been working for the SPD party executive, among other things as office manager of the deputy party chairman Bärbel Dieckmann . In 2009 and 2010 he was department head of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia, in 2011 he was election campaign manager of the SPD Saxony-Anhalt, after which he became office manager of the SPD federal manager Astrid Klug .

Since 2004 Buchner has been chairman of the SPD department in Weißensee-City in Weißensee . On September 18, 2011 and September 18, 2016, he was directly elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in the constituency of Pankow 4 . Buchner is a member of the committees for education, youth and science as well as sport. Since December 2011 he has been the sporting political spokesman for his group. Since November 2012 he has also been a member of the Presidium of the Berlin House of Representatives.

From September 2014 to the end of 2016, Buchner was the state manager of the Berlin SPD.
