Dennis Amos Marshall Maxwell (born August 9, 1985 in Puerto Limón , † June 23, 2011 in San José ) was a Costa Rican soccer player . He was most recently under contract with Aalborg BK in the Danish SAS league and was a national player in his home country.
Career
The 1.89-meter-tall defender played for Limón FC , Puntarenas FC and CS Herediano at home . He has been with Aalborg BK since 2009 and scored two goals in 22 games.
Marshall played 19 times for the national team. In 2009 it was used four times at the CONCACAF Gold Cup . In the eight months since Ricardo La Volpe took charge of the team in September 2010, he has become one of the coach's preferred defenders. A few days before his death he scored his only goal for his country; in the quarter-finals of the 2011 Gold Cup , which Costa Rica lost to Honduras on penalties, he marked the only goal of his team to equalize 1-1 in regular time on June 18, 2011.

Marshall died at the age of 25 in a traffic accident on the road between San José and Puerto Limón. He was on home leave after the national team was eliminated from the Gold Cup in the United States. His girlfriend was also killed in the accident.
