Dennis Rohde (born June 24, 1986 in Oldenburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2013 . He is the budgetary spokesman for his group.

Life

Dennis Rohde put in 2006 at the New School Oldenburg be High School from. He then studied law at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover . In 2010 he passed the first exam . After the legal clerkship at the Oldenburg Higher Regional Court , the second state examination followed in 2013 . Before joining the German Bundestag, Rohde worked as a lawyer in Westerstede .

Political party

Rohde has been a member of the SPD since 2002. He initially got involved with the Jusos , where he was deputy district chairman from 2005 to 2011 and deputy state chairman in Lower Saxony between 2007 and 2009 . From 2009 to 2019 he was chairman of the SPD in the Ammerland district . Rohde has been a member of the SPD Weser-Ems District Executive Committee since 2013 and its treasurer since 2017 .

Public offices

Rohde has been a member of the district council of the Ammerland district since 2011 and councilor of the municipality of Wiefelstede since 2006 . There he was also group chairman from 2011 to 2014. In September 2013 he was directly elected to the German Bundestag and confirmed in the 2017 election. He represents the Oldenburg - Ammerland constituency . In the 18th German Bundestag (2013–2017) Rohde was a member of the Audit Committee, the Legal Committee of the German Bundestag and the Budget Committee .

In the 19th German Bundestag (since 2017), Rohde was initially a member and deputy chairman of the budget committee, deputy budgetary spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and a member of the audit committee. Since May 12, 2020 he has been the budgetary spokesman for his group as the successor to the resigned Johannes Kahr . On June 18, 2020, he also took over the chairmanship of the trust committee from Kahrs .

Committee of inquiry into the consultant affair

Rohde has been the spokesman for his parliamentary group in the committee of inquiry into the consultant affair in the Federal Ministry of Defense since February 2019 . In response to the events in the Federal Ministry of Defense , he called for changes to the Investigation Committee Act and thus more opportunities for the German Bundestag. The state must also make itself more independent of consultants and strengthen its own state apparatus.

Memberships

Rohde is a member of the Federal Presidium of Workers' Welfare . He is also a member of the European Union Germany .
