Deoria ( Hindi : देवरिया , Urdu : دیوریا; Devriyā , [ ˈd̪eːo̯rɪjɑ ]) is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh with around 130,000 inhabitants (2011 census).
The city is located in the northeast of Uttar Pradesh near the border with the neighboring state of Bihar, around 50 kilometers southeast of Gorakhpur . The city is the administrative seat of the Deoria district . The railway line from Gorakhpur to Siwan runs through Deoria .
