The King of Narnia (original title The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe ) is a ten-part miniseries from ITV and an adaptation of the children's book The King of Narnia by CS Lewis from 1967.

The length of each episode including advertising is around 20 minutes. The animals were not computer-animated, but presented by actors in costumes. Only the first and eighth episodes still exist today, all other episodes have been lost. The King of Narnia is the first adaptation of the book series The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis.

Further films

ITV did not film the other six books in the series. However, there were later further adaptations by various production companies. There was a cartoon by Bill Meléndez , three six-part miniseries from the BBC and three feature films from Walden Media . The King of Narnia was filmed three times, in 1979 , 1988 and 2005 . George Claydon , who played the dwarf Ginaarbrik, played the dwarf Nikarbrik in the BBC's second miniseries, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian & the Journey of the Dawn .
