George Claydon

George Claydon (born September 4, 1933 in Bristol , England , United Kingdom , † October 4, 2001 in Hammersmith , London , England, United Kingdom) was a British film actor .

Life

George Claydon, best known for his short stature , worked as an actor from 1963 to 1989. He played the photographer George in Magical Mystery Tour , Oompa Loompa in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971) and Hercules in The Devil Inside Her , among others .

In 1967 he played the dwarf Ginarrbrik in The King of Narnia , a film adaptation of the book series The Chronicles of Narnia by ITV . In 1989 he starred in the role of the dwarf Nikarbrik in a BBC film adaptation of the series, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian & The Journey of the Dawn .

In 1966, Claydon was World Cup Willie, the official soccer mascot of the soccer World Cup in England.

Claydon died at Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith at the age of 68 .
