action

Centuries have passed since the Pevensie children visited Narnia. King Miraz rules, a cruel despot who came to the throne after killing his brother King Caspian IX. murdered. His son Caspian, a 10-year-old boy, learns the legend of Cair Paravel and the Pevensie siblings from his teacher, the dwarf Cornelius, and wishes to live in the old days. When King Miraz had a son, he sought after Caspian's life, so that Caspian had to flee.

Caspian encounters dwarfs and talking animals from Old Narnia, who convince him to take his place as heir to the throne and thus to rule Narnia fairly. Caspian gathers an army of dwarves, badgers and other inhabitants of Narnia and blows his magic horn. This alerts Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, who are then drawn to Narnia as if by magic. Here Peter faces King Miraz and kills him. The young Caspian becomes king of Narnia. However, Aslan the Lion has to tell Peter and Susan that they will never be allowed to return to Narnia because they are too old. The four children are sent back to London .

Edmund and Lucy spend the holidays with their cousin Eustace, who mocks them and dismisses Narnia as a fairy tale. Suddenly, the three of them are drawn into a picture that shows a ship. It is the dawn , commanded by Caspian, who is now 10 years his senior. His task is to bring back to Narnia seven lords who once served his father, who was murdered by Miraz. At dawn , an adventure begins for Edmund, Lucy and the initially defiant Eustace that takes them to the edge of the world. They are accompanied by the mouse Reepicheep, who is a valuable ally in the fight against evil.

background

Filmed at different locations in Great Britain , Part 2, which concerns special effects and production design, is the most complex, since a dragon and a sea monster had to be created, a ship had to be constructed and three castles had to be adapted.

Warwick Davis , seen here as Reepicheep, plays the black dwarf Nikabrik in the remake The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian of Narnia .
