The Cardinal of the Kremlin (English. The Cardinal of the Kremlin ) is a novel by the American writer Tom Clancy and appeared in 1988. It is chronologically the fifth novel in the Jack Ryan series created by Tom Clancy .

For the two most powerful nations in the world (USA and USSR), despite disarmament , no goal is more important than the establishment of a defense system for ICBMs .
