The warning voice is the title of a bronze casting - plastic of Vadim Sidur in the courtyard of Dusseldorf . The object, which is reminiscent of the biblical figure of the caller in the desert , is also interpreted as a memorial against totalitarianism and violence .

description

The 4.8 meter high sculpture shows the abstract , larger than life figure of a person, whose hands are raised to the head and formed into a bell to call out a warning. The curved trunk of the symmetrically designed figure is notched in the central axis from bottom to top so that the front view gives the impression of two ascending strands that merge into two arms in the shoulder and finally flow into the bell of the hands. The proportionally scaled-back head, into which the figure tapers conically, is barely visible in the frontal view.

history

The funds for the sculpture were made available by the van Meeteren Foundation . The Herbert Schmäke art foundry took over the production of the plastic . The object was set up in October 1985 on the Ananasberg , a hill in the court garden modeled at the beginning of the 19th century by the landscape gardener Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe , in such a way that the figure seems to be calling across the pond of the land crown.
