Holger Tamm, company craftsman, is 30 years old, married and already the father of a legitimate child - with his wife Hannelore - and an illegitimate child. Now he meets 19-year-old Marion Grunert. He quickly falls in love with the young librarian and enters into intimate relationships with her, which in turn lead to pregnancy. In order to escape all obligations from family and fatherhood, Tamm leaves his job and lapses more and more into strolling around.
