Hans-Edgar Stecher

Hans-Edgar Stecher (born November 2, 1931 in Lauchhammer ) is a German actor , voice actor and presenter .

Life and career

After graduating from school, Stecher initially worked as a bricklayer and responded to a newspaper advertisement at DEFA . In 1948 he got his first role in the rubble film 1-2-3 Corona . He also appeared in numerous East German, and from 1986 also in West German film and television productions. He belonged u. a. to the following ensembles: DEFA-Schauspielstudio Berlin, Theater der Junge Garde Halle, Theater der Freunde Berlin and Deutsches Theater Berlin . Since the beginning of the 1950s, he has also had extensive film and television work, including as a presenter on children's television. He became popular e.g. B. as Mäcki in Puppenstadt station . From the beginning of the 1960s, he was also active as a spokesperson for radio play publications for the litera label such as Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten , Schneewittchen or Huckleberry Finn .

In 1984 he used a vacation stay in Yugoslavia to flee the GDR and has lived in southern Germany ever since. Due to his departure and since two other actors had also fled from the GDR before the first broadcast, the Polizeiruf-110 episode , which was already completely produced, did not become Rosi's husband (shooting time: March 13th to April 30th, 1984, including in Berlin and Magdeburg ) broadcast. The film has since been considered lost . It can be assumed that it was completely destroyed.

The son Thomas Stecher (born February 22, 1961 in Berlin), who was married to the actress Kati Székely , is also an actor. The marriage later ended in divorce.
