Johann Baptist Eiselin

Johann Baptist Eiselin (born April 4, 1637 in Dresselbach ; † October 9, 1693 in Wislikofen ) was a German Benedictine and historian .

Life

Johann Baptist Eiselin took his vows on July 8, 1653 in the monastery of St. Blasien , he studied philosophy and theology at the University of Freiburg . In 1668 he was prior in the Berau monastery . From 1689 he was employed in Gengenbach Monastery for the training of novices, later in St. Peter's Monastery in the Black Forest . He died in Wislikofen, there presumably in the Wislikofen Propstei . As a historian he left behind some manuscripts.
