Lotte Wagner is a bright and slightly cheeky single mother of two children. Her ex-husband is permanently in arrears with maintenance payments and her job in the Rhineland weaving factory is also poorly paid. But she doesn't let her courage to face life be taken away. When one day she took the right of way from top manager Matthias Winkelmann, she refused to be silenced and resolutely asserted herself. Little does she know that she will see him again soon. Because Matthias, who only lives for his job, is a board member of the textile company "Bloomfeld AG".
After a breakdown, the doctor imposed a strict one-month ban on him. Therefore, the single Matthias ekes out his time in his deserted luxury villa. While jogging, he soon runs into Lotte again, who trains her football-loving boys.
Both get closer and later, over dinner together, Matthias learns what professional problems Lotte is struggling with. Since she works in the supplier company that his company wants to get rid of for cost reasons, he hides his position.
He doesn't want to put his newfound love at risk, not even when Lotte asks him for advice on how to teach his own workforce to forego wages. However, when negotiations between Rhineland and Bloomfeld later take place, Lotte discovers Matthias' true identity. There is a scandal in which everything is at stake, love and Matthias' job.
