The Dream of Memory is the second studio album by the Bayreuth band Goethes Erben and represents the second part of the album trilogy.

Thematically, the album is similar to its predecessor, The Dying, is aesthetically colorful , even if the thematic focus on death is not brought to the fore to the same extent.

• After the album was released, the “Erben” went on a tour of Germany for the first time and were even supported live as a guest musician by Peter Seipt, who was a founding member of the Erben.
• When the album was released in August 1992, Conny R. had already left the band.
• The song Das Ende is a new setting, the original of which was part of “Der Spiegel, whose path leads to the end through silent witnesses”.
• The melody of The Black Being comes from Bartholomäus B. Verdel, who supported the band as a guest musician with the piano in the song. The piece was also set to music for the play “Schattendenken” and can therefore be found on the album “Dazwischen”, which is part of the theater.
• Iphigenia has thematic similarities with the Greek mythology around Iphigenia . Above all the position in the Iphigenies ancestor Atreus his brother Thyest the slaughtered boys for dinner are taken over from it.

New edition

In 1998 the entire album trilogy was reissued. Like all of the new editions, the cover has been changed and the booklet has been completely redesigned. The new edition of "Zeitbombe" was distributed.
