Goethes Erben is the fourth studio album by the Bayreuth band Goethes Erben .
background
Due to the fact that the album is nameless, the name Blue Album has become established, as Henke calls it in the booklet of the successor Schach ist nicht das Leben . On the official website of the band, however, the name Goethes Erben can be read in the discography .
Henke himself describes the album as the best in his eyes that has been produced so far, while his bandmate Mindy favors the follow-up album. The blue album was a fiasco in terms of sales, even if it silenced many of the critical voices. Henke also said that apparently only a few people appreciate this work and whoever understands it should pay his full respect. He does not see the album as an ordinary collection of songs, rather it resembles an audio book in which every piece is part of a whole. In the booklet of the album "Schach ist nicht das Leben", Henke wrote a short thank you to the fans of the Blue Album:
- " (...) We especially greet all those who love the Blue Album by Goethe's heirs, only those who can endure the cold will understand us. "
The style can no longer be precisely determined here, but parts of the New German Death Art are certainly present, such as B. the song blue .

Subject
The Pascal songs are about the helplessness of parents when their own child dies. Henke referred to his previous job as a nurse:
- [...] and I also hope that I never have to experience such a situation, but I have the imagination to be able to deal abstractly with certain topics. However, in my previous job I had a lot to do with suffering and death, so that I can sense the feelings of a mother who has lost her child.

The album was only produced in an edition of 8000 pieces and differs from all works by the band that were published earlier or later.
Visually, the first edition only appeared in a blue-transparent jewel case with a microfiche inlay without any other decorations. The track list was read out on the eighth post, along with the production information.
It is also atypical that with Blau and Rebell there are only two songs in the usual style and these two together make up half of the season. In addition, with the Pascal songs, Henke gives most of the time the vocals to a guest musician.
A later edition, however, was published with a booklet and back cover for marketing purposes .

The first part of the Pascal parts is a new setting of the song Pascal laughs , the original version of which was later re-released on the Glasgarten Maxi CD .
