Sara Noxx

Sara Noxx (real name Britt Rommel, * 1971 in Luckenwalde ) is a German musician.

Career

She is one of the winners of the 1997 Zillo band contest. The debut album Noxxious and the single society filled and still fill the dance floors of the alternative clubs today . The follow-up album Paradoxx (1998) is also characterized by electronic sounds, melancholy beats and lyrics full of end-time romance. Stupid took the sales charts by storm in Belgium - with the entry from 0 to 2, international attention was also paid to the German electro-pop artist.

After a three year musical hiatus, Exxtasy was released in 2001 . Noxx convinced here for the first time with its special variety in vocal timbre. Songs like Winter Again and Last Desire became classics. In 2003 Sara Noxx released her instrumental album Nonvoxx . In autumn the album Equinoxx and the single Colder & Colder were released , which in turn topped all European alternative charts for a few weeks. In spring 2004, Sara's first volume of poetry, Lyrixx , was published. In March 2007 she released the album Bridges with Sven Wolffs under the project name “Essexx”, which bridges the gap between 80s dark wave and modern electro pop .

Another collaboration is the Maxi CD Earth Song , published in 2008 , which was created in collaboration with the German alternative band Project Pitchfork and contained remixes by artists such as Tanzwut , Subway to Sally , Cat Rapes Dog and Joachim Witt . There was also a limited edition with further remixes.

For the 19th Wave-Gotik-Treffen in May 2010 a cover version of “ Where the Wild Roses Grow ” with Mark Benecke was released, which was remixed by well-known electronic bands such as Feindflug , Contrast , SITD and others. For the 20th Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2016 a cover version of Falco s Jeanny was released - again recorded with Mark Benecke - which reached number 1 in the German alternative charts in April 2016.

Music genre

Sara Noxx's music is characterized by electronic instrumentation paired with melodic spoken word . The songs are mostly structured in the classic scheme. Sara Noxx's earlier style was closely based on British artist Anne Clark , with whom Noxx has often been compared because of her very similar voice.
