action
In the library of a small town in Brittany there is a "library of books rejected (by the publishers)". A young editor stumbled upon the manuscript of an unknown author there, about whom she was so enthusiastic that she decided to publish it in her renowned publishing house. The novel becomes a bestseller and draws public attention to the author Henri Pick, a pizza maker who died two years earlier, and his family.
The well-known literary critic Jean-Michel Rouche, who doubts the author's authenticity in a television program, provokes a scandal and in this way loses his job and his wife. Undeterred, he goes in search of the true author of the novel and receives unexpected help from Joséphine Pick, the unusually well-read daughter of the pizza maker who, according to his wife, has never read a book.
