Derbin Island is an uninhabited island of the Krenitzin Islands , which belong to the Aleutian Islands . The small island is located near the island of Tigalda .

The name "Derbin" dates back to 1935 and was chosen by the US Coast and Geodetic Survey because of its proximity to the Derbin Strait, which runs between Avatanak and Tigalda . The name Derbin is derived from "Derbenskoy", which the Russian priest and missionary Innokenti Weniaminow chose in 1840 for this waterway.
