Derek Taylor (singer)
Derek Taylor (born August 15, 1975 in Los Angeles ) is an American opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
He received his vocal training at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. After that, engagements took him to numerous opera stages in America. a. to the Austin Lyric Opera, the Baltimore Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, the Portland Opera , the Opera Illinois and the Palm Beach Opera. He has also made guest appearances at the opera stages in Basel, Haifa, El Paso, Montreal, Manchester, Melbourne, Honolulu etc. Since the 2008/09 season, Derek Taylor has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the St. Gallen Theater , where he made his role debut as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor gave.
In addition to his stage presence, Derek Taylor, winner of several singing competitions, is also active as an oratorio, lied and concert singer. The singer is married to the soprano Evelyn Pollock . The couple appear on stage together again and again, for example as Violetta and Alfredo in La traviata .
